The Highest Level Networking Event in the Cannabinoid Industry
We are the creators of the ORIGINAL CBD Expo Tour, and it's personal.

Powered by Delta 8 Magazine and CBD Health & Wellness Magazine, our driving force is education and we’ve been doing it for twelve years, when the CEO of MACE Media Group, Celeste Miranda, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Our education panels are unmatched, connecting physicians, scientists, industry experts, researchers, and thought leaders. Coming up will be our 30th stop on the CBD Expo TOUR where we bring the magazines alive in our conferences, connecting store owners and other professionals with the trending products they are looking for. Our exclusive Industry Buyers Club is highly vetted and personal invitations are sent to attend our events. These are the people you want your product to be in front of.

Our conferences are boutique and rooted in quality. Our goal isn’t for you to scan as many badges as you can. Our goal is for you to make that life-changing deal or connection. We tune our event to high-caliber exhibitors that “get it” and provide them with data and continued promotion AFTER the event. We are partners for our exhibitors and providers for our attendees. Sales are done on our floor. Samples are given freely.

Call us or text us 24/7. We can answer all your questions... 805-716-5121

Panel Room: Is HHC Natural or Synthetic?
Surveys of U.S. consumers usually do report that a majority prefer a natural product to a synthetic one, when given the choice. Nonetheless, synthetic products, including foods and drugs, are ubiquitous within the U.S. market. Pharmaceuticals especially are broadly synthetic, and though some “natural” products exist, an overwhelming majority of consumers use synthetic pharmaceuticals regularly. Given that HHC is typically marketed as a pharmaceutical-like product, there is evidence to suggest that consumers may be willing to trade their preference for “natural” with a synthetic product if that product generates enough benefits with minimal risk of side effects. However, side effects must be considered, and some consumers may also be cautious about some of the perhaps unknown or unforeseen side effects of a synthetic product. This is especially important if there is little to no scientific data on the product, as is the case with HHC.

Given these arguments, it is important to consider the future of HHC in the market. Although there is discussion about loosening of federal regulations on cannabinoids and on THC, THC is still considered federally illegal and illegal in most states. Even though HHC is not technically illegal under the current laws, some legal scholars also argue that lawmakers will work to “tie up” the loopholes in current laws to better regulate THC derivatives, like HHC. On the other hand, because HHC is less potently intoxicating, there are greater possibilities for its therapeutic use, and it may offer a viable alternative to medical marijuana in patients who want to avoid or minimize intoxication

Panel Room: Same Yet Different: The Extraction of Mushrooms and Cannabinoids
Mushrooms and cannabis are the headline grabbers.  They are distinctly different and have the same barriers to moving forward in a consistent scientific process.  Mushrooms are consumed around the world.  Flavors and fragrances help with meals.  They hold many compounds with great value once extracted, also.  Cannabis is not a typical dinner garnish or ingredient.  Both of the plants need to be extracted to gain the concentrated form to put into a medicine.  The use of cell blasting technology has proven successful.  From water and ethanol history to looking at how to do this on a small scale, pilot, to industrial-scale will be discussed.

Panel Room: The Exporting of Pharmaceutical Grade Cannabioids
the export of pharmaceutical grade cannabis has a bright, but complex future. The global market for cannabis products is huge, and it continues to grow at a rate of about 54% per year. As the market grows, more consumers will seek products they can trust, and since internal labs do not exist everywhere, the need for foreign imports will grow exponentially. Labs that meet requirements then have a tremendous opportunity to meet the growing global need for high-quality cannabis.

For those that do wish to enter the global export market, there are a few key steps to getting there. First, import/export is usually guided by Federal laws, rather than state or provincial laws. So, to import/export medical cannabis, labs must first know federal regulations on medical cannabis. Right now, medical-use cannabis is legal in Canada and Mexico, much of South America, Australia, most of Central Europe, and parts of Africa. Next, labs would need to reach out to and create deals with reliable buyers to begin exporting goods. Once a deal is struck, manufacturers will next need import/export permits. After permits are approved, products can be shipped. However, measures will be needed to ensure quality is retained along all parts of the supply chain. For example, can the shipping company ensure the product is maintained at proper temperatures, humidity, etc. to certify the product arrives in the same condition in which it was shipped? Furthermore, will the buyer also keep the integrity of the product prior to distribution? These are all factors manufacturers must consider when entering the export market.

Panel Room: CBD as an Herbal Holistic Therapy
In recent years, CBD has established a place in traditional medicine, when the drug
Epidolex (which is the brand name for this specific form of CBD) received FDA approval as a treatment for seizures in anyone 1 year or older with certain seizure disorders. Epidolex is a CBD solution dosed usually at 25 mg/kg. It is the first and only CBD solution with FDA approval at this time. It requires a prescription. However, CBD may have beneficial effects beyond its ability to ease seizures in patients with severe seizure disorders.

CBD might improve general quality of life through its actions in helping with pain/discomfort, sleep, anxiety, and general mood. Everyone hurts, sleeps poorly, or suffers from imperfect mental health. Although a person shouldn’t yet rely on CBD to treat clinical levels of pain, insomnia, or anxiety/mood disorders, scientists are beginning to make strides in looking at CBD as an adjunct therapy to augment existing treatments or to improve overall quality of life. Anecdotally, many users of CBD do report feeling slightly more energetic, more resilient, and happier when they take CBD.

Altogether, on top of being a viable treatment for clinical conditions, CBD shows promise
as an adjunct for holistic medicine to improve quality of life. It is an
exciting time and with changes in the legal status of CBD, further studies will
continue to emerge.

Panel Room:  CBD and the Process of Converting it to D8, HHC, THC-O, and More
Many different cannabinoids can be produced in laboratories performing chemical reactions with CBD as starting material. By semi-synthetically modifying the major constituent of hemp plants, it is possible to produce valuable health-promoting compounds that are present in nature only in small amounts and which can be extracted from hemp with very low yields and large solvents waste.  Depending on the needs, CBD can be converted into other cannabinoids such as D8, HHC, THC-O among others. Through semi-synthetic reactions involving heat, acids, catalysts and various reagents we are capable of improving the overall process of cannabinoids production and reduce the environmental impact of minor cannabinoid extraction.

Panel Room: The Making of Hemp Infused Food and Beverages
The Agricultural Act of 2018 legalized hemp at the federal level and consequently birthed the hemp-infused food and beverage market which was valued at xxx in 2020. Hemp contains cannabidiol (CBD_ as well as other cannabinoids and terpenes that can be used to infuse foods and beverages. The hemp-infused food and beverage market is expected to maintain a CAGR of 26.5% in the next five-year period (2022-2027). Several factors have been contributing to this positive growth including the following:

· Legalization of hemp federally

· Increased knowledge and awareness about the therapeutic potential of hemp-derived cannabinoids

· Shift away from smoking to hemp-infused edibles that are considered safer

· Availability of high-quality hemp-infused products

Hemp-infused foods and beverages come in various shapes and forms. Different technologies are also being harnessed to increase the bioavailability of infused edibles and make them “fast-acting.” Join us in exploring the opportunity in hemp-infused foods and beverages.

Psychedelic Medicine Conference Workshops:
Extraction of Mushrooms
Presented By: John Mackay, PhD
Extraction of the compounds from mushrooms differs from cannabis. Breaking the more muscular cell wall of a mushroom versus the single cell wall of the trichomes is more of a challenge. Mushrooms have hydrophilic (water-loving) and hydrophobic (water-hating) compounds, while cannabis is primarily hydrophobic. This time will focus on the mushroom extraction of compounds through many different processes. As a natural product with possible medical benefits, mushrooms are getting more positive headlines than cannabis is recent. Mushrooms have been used for eons as food and medicine. There is more detailed research on mushrooms than on cannabis because not all the benefits were banned. There have been mushrooms in our salads and soups and used as medicines because they are nutritional food. There is more consumption, and it has been increasing over the years. From the extensive metabolic profiling of mushrooms to table food, mushrooms need to be extracted.
